JT Atkinson Case Study

JT Atkinson requested a plan to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint across all their sites. Energy Oasis quickly ascertained that solar PV would help them to achieve their goals of creating energy on site, and providing a revenue which would be index linked and paid for over 20 years with a 7 year ROI. We installed 30kW solar PV systems on 25 of their sites and 1 site of 50kW.

Our energy monitoring identified saving opportunities that included changes to heating arrangements and the installation of intelligent LED lighting across all their sites. The UK manufactured LED lights we choose to install have individual controls that have the day light harvesting feature to minimise consumption. A hand held controller allows the lux levels and the PIRs to be adjusted remotely.

The lighting retro fit reduced the consumption on the majority of sites by 80%. The overall outcome of the project so far is that each site receives approximately £3,400 a year in feed-in tariff and deemed export. The electricity consumption on each site is now approximately £3,150 from a previous average of £12,000-14,000.

YM Chantry Case Study

YM Chantry required an intelligent LED lighting system over their new press area (15m x 110m) in the middle of their main printing operation. The lux requirement was an average 500 lux, with a colour temperature of 5000 Kelvin’s – equivalent to day light. Our solution increased lux levels by around 350 lux, whilst providing annual energy saving of 34MWh and an annual carbon saving of over 15 tons. The return on investment was 4.4 Years.

Carrs Billington Case Study

Carrs Billington are an established agricultural supplier with 32 stores around the UK. Energy Oasis installed energy monitoring as part of the first phase of the energy efficiency project. Intelligent LED lights were subsequently installed internally and externally. The new lighting solution will save at least 82% on their annual spend, and Carrs Billington were able to claim back 20% of the cost of installation against the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme.

Cepac Case Study

Cepac are an independent corrugated packaging producer with 4 sites in the UK. Energy Oasis provided a lighting design for a new warehouse extension that provided 30% fewer lights than the previous M & E contractor design. The new extension has a lux level of 350, and the lights only run at full power when it’s dark, due to the large roof lights and the individual control capability of the lights.

James Clay Case Study

James Clay are an independent importer and distributor of specialist beers and beverages and were keen to improve the lighting quality for their employees and reduce costs. Installation occurred without disruption to operations and reduced energy consumption by 88%. This provides savings of over £11,000/year with reduced maintenance costs and a return on investment of 2.9 years.

Plas-Tech Case Study

Plas-Tech Thermoforming supply plastic components to the plastic industry and required intelligent LED to replace existing “dumb” LED and sodium lighting. The installation saved over 7,500kWh and £1,000 per annum.

"Energy Oasis have worked with us to facilitate all the solutions. They have been diligent, hardworking and professional in every aspect and we would have no hesitation in recommending them to other companies. "
