Energy Oasis partnered with Hills Print, an independent printing business in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, to enhance energy efficiency and light quality. By implementing advanced LED technology and intelligent controls, Energy Oasis achieved substantial energy savings and reduced carbon emissions for Hills Print.
Hills Print sought Energy Oasis' assistance in reducing energy consumption in their print shop and office areas while improving light quality for product inspections. They were committed to finding sustainable solutions that aligned with their environmental goals.
Project Background
Energy Oasis recommended the use of the LumiROD 416 LED lighting solution from Low Energy Designs to replace the twin fluorescent fittings in the print shop. Each fixture was equipped with an integrated microwave sensor for motion detection, maintained light levels, and daylight harvesting. Additionally, all fixtures were programmed to switch off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
For the office areas, Energy Oasis replaced the previous 600x600 recessed modular fluorescent fittings with Sky 66 LED panels, resulting in a 50% reduction in energy consumption. In other areas such as the kitchen and toilets, Glow CTC LED downlights replaced the recessed modulars.
