Transforming Harrogate Convention Centre's Premier Inn Car Park with LED Lighting Solution
Energy Oasis worked with Harrogate Convention Centre to tackle energy reduction goals, starting with the Premier Inn car park. Harrogate Convention Centre is a renowned conference and exhibition venue in the UK, attracting visitors from around the world for trade shows, exhibitions, and live events. Energy Oasis was approached by Harrogate Convention Centre and Premier Inn to address energy consumption reduction, particularly focusing on the Premier Inn car park and other areas in the convention centre. The objectives were to lower running costs, enhance commercial viability, decrease the carbon footprint, and eliminate the need for frequent re-lamping.
Project Background
Energy Oasis selected the LumiROD 414 LED lighting solution from Low Energy Designs as the ideal replacement for the existing twin fluorescent fittings in the car park. Each LumiROD 414 light was equipped with an integrated PIR sensor, enabling efficient motion detection, maintained light levels, and daylight harvesting. To maximise energy savings, 60% of the lights were programmed to dim down to 10% after 2 minutes of no motion, while 40% of the fittings were set to turn off completely after 2 minutes of no motion.
